I think this site is AMAZING. Its for people who appreciate the small things like finding a penny then actually having good luck or drawing something on a test and having your teacher respond. i admit the cliches can be a bit annoying, but calling stories cliche has become a cliche even more annoying then the clices on the post. I say try to ignore the cliches and enjoy the story. bacause the sit morphed you can basically choose a section that you like and have a ton of pages on it. my guess is that this is a phase and it will change again, but not in the way every single person wants it to.

First of all, I don't manage to hit EVERY post. And I know it's annoying, but people won't always go back and read comments from days ago on posts; they may never even see the post. People aren't going to come here if they don't know it exists.
when i first started reading MLIA, there was only like 12 pages. now there's like 1500+ pages, most of it being cliche. this is the first time i've been to MLIA in 3 or so months, and i can see it hasn't gotten any better. i miss old MLIA...
Exactly why we need to get this posted so everyone can see this! The only reason people keep putting in the cliches and everything is so they can actually get their stories posted, because now that people have seen that it's annoying, they want to keep getting them up there to provoke people.
Maybe you should stop posting these stupid stories before it becomes a cliche. If you want more average stories, submit some. Then, go to the vote on submissions page and vote "no" on stories you don't think are average enough. simple as that.

The current stories are occasionally funny, very rarely average, often made up, and sometimes STOLEN from other sites like bash.org or TFLN. The phrases 'needless to say', 'Best.(something).ever.', 'I love my (family member/significant other)', 'new favorite (something)? i think so' have killed, raped, and violated MLIA.

I believe MLIA is too far-gone to return to its average roots. Here's an idea, make a new website (that is like the old MLIA). In order to post on it, you have to register on it. If you make a post that isnt average, you will be banned forever. Harsh yes, but that way it will always be average.

Wow, this is sort of ridiculous! I'm rather new to MLIA, but since I discovered it I have checked it every day. Life gets stressful and it's fabulous for a laugh. Yeah, some of the stories are made up, I'm sure. But throughout my day I find random things that make me smile and know that really, MLIA. Because even if ninjas, dinos, and nerf guns aren't an everyday occurrence, I think we can all agree that random, silly things really do happen and they really do make our average lives just a little bit more fun. In fact, today was the first time MLIA has not made me laugh aloud, simply because the entire first two pages were covered with people being sarcastic and complaining about the site I've come to love and enjoy. Sure, silly things happen to us everyday. But you obviously haven't read the FAQ. The posts are supposed be likely to happen to most people, and what you post is supposed to happen to you personally often. Many, if not all, the recent posts are just about one-time occurences they thought were simply hilarious and wanted to share with people, but no-one can relate to them. When someone posts things about ninjas and forts, they're suggesting that that particular instance occurs often and is easily relatable. Even you can't say that any of this stuff is relatable. It's hardly funny anymore, because all the content is a borrowed variation, cliched, or repeated. People on here are sarcastic and complain because of what people like you have done to it; just as you've "come to love the 'new MLIA,'" We've always loved the averageness. And you can't criticize or blame us for wanting it back or not accepting the new one, because we were here first and this website was made for averageness (hence mylifeisAVERAGE.com). Yes, we can enjoy life, but we can't enjoy or appreciate things that we don't know or haven't experienced, like the new cliched posts that are here now. As for the old MLIAs, they happen to a lot of us often, so we understand it and can appreciate the simplicity and averageness. Some might say that the old ones are too boring, but this site is not called mylifeisfunny, it's called mylifeisaverage; not all average things or boring, but whether it's boring or not is irrelevant, because it's still average. Yes, there ARE times when something really random or funny happens. But sometimes you can just tell when something's stretching the limit. Maybe not ALL of the random ninja stranger/harry potter/awesome teacher stories are fake, but not all of them are true, either. And anywho, the word average does not mean it happens once in your lifetime. Average means it is normal and happens frequently on an every day basis. Yes it has evolved from its original purpose, just take a look at the oldest posts and you will see just how changed the stories are. Not to say that change isn't good, change is great, and is exactly what MLIA needs again. I'm sick of people posting the same immature stories. An average life story is writing with a pencil. I like the average stories but more so the unaverage because if they were all average what would be the point in reading them when its happened to all of us.
I rather liked these funny stories. I kind of looked at this site as changing the meaning of an 'average' life to something fun and epic. :/ I understand MLIA was created to rail against FML, and isn't that what the recent stories do?
I don't want to posy this under every comment, so I will just write it here. This site was created for stories that are average. Then someone decided it would be funny to post something out of the norm, and maybe it was the first few times, but now every single damn story is the exact same. All the same words, all the same SUBJECTS. For example, apparently you can get extra credit on a test you were going to fail anyway as long as you draw ninjas on your paper. Things like that might happen to one person, but they do not happen to half the people on earth. The stories are ALL repeated, half are stolen from older posts or from websites, and these new stories are so stupid and repetitive that they are not funny. They are annoying. So all of you that say "Average is boring, I don't want to read it", why THE FUCK did you come to a site called MY LIFE IS AVERAGE? Go make your own place for your ninja/pirate/extra credit/ Twilight crap-posts.

This site IS average, though. It's about the funny little things that are average enough that they COULD happen to anyone. Some are relatable and funny, whereas others are averagely awesome and you wish that they had happened to you, which they could/might have done, because they're AVERAGE. :D
this is funny cause actually i thought that some of the stories were fake but i loved them, they made me laugh, but really, i had the most average experience today, my friend came to school dresseed as a banana and straight away i thought of MLIA. so just wait adn something average will happen to you and you won't doubt this site again|! haha

ok I don't get it. I went and looked at the pages as far as it'd let me and I read those and honestly if I found this site when those were the kinds of posts happening I wouldn't return. cause they're all like "Today, I went to the store to get sugar. They were out of the brand I like so I got a different one" seriously one of those says that. That's just boring and uninteresting I come to this site cause it dos make me laugh and because it's about small things in peoples lives that happend to average people. It could happen to anyone. Granteed the Hot Chocolate Ninja might be a little hard. but ones that were like "Today, I witnessed the you go this way I go that way no wait you go this way I'll go that way dance and I was awaiting the outsome when one of the people gave the other a gian bear hug and went around him. I now know what I'll do next time it happends to me." Come on that's cute and funny and could happen to ANYONE I don't get how a trip to the grocery store and them not having their brand of sugar is interesting if there wasn't anything interesting then the site would simply shut down. Again I like this site BECAUSE it's about the small things that happen to average people, not movie stars, not presidents, but average everyday people who other average people can relate to. I'm only a 16 year old girl and I can relate to some of the stories. Who cares if they're made up? Just laugh and be entertained.

I have had only one story posted on here and it was 100% factual and no one else I have ever meandered across on here has said something fake, false or a lie. It's all a bunch of hogwash to say someone would make a farse statement. Even if it where fake, if it got posted that means it made someones day somewhere along the line, and therefore that person was a grand writer and has a brilliant imagination.
