MyLifeIsAverage

Life is pretty normal today.
Today my wife and I found out the baby we are having is a girl. I want to name her Hermione. We are both avid MLIA readers and she said if I can get a MLIA posted about it we can name the baby Hermione. If not, she gets to name her Bella. Come on readers. I don't want a sparkly vampire loving baby. MLIA

OP, you and your wife are idiots.

[ - ]  scarlett11Good: 52Bad: 131 year, 11 months ago
Agreed. Wow, these are both terrible names. Why don't you just name her Harry Potter?

[ - ]  MausGood: 39Bad: 91 year, 11 months ago
I love Harry Potter, but naming a kid after a character in it? It's just stupid, unless you're naming them because you like the name. I used to like the name Bella before Twilight came around and ruined everything.

[ - ]  scarlett11Good: 8Bad: 71 year, 11 months ago
Exactly. Same with Edward. mylifeisaverage.com/story/1709408

[ - ]  AmberGilmore88Good: 13Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
I completely agree. When I found out I was pregnant last year I wanted to name my son Edward because it's my Father's middle name but everyone completely ruined it by linking it to Twilight and I couldn't stand it anymore. It's ridiculous.

[ - ]  morbidlyobesepandaGood: 6Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I agree. The kid's going to get a lot of teasing for that, too. At least Bella's more common than Hermione.

[ - ]  ginnyweasley1234Good: 26Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Thats why you name her Bellatrix and nickname will be Bella, everybodys happy

[ - ]  MyJesusJesusGood: 6Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Ha! Love that. Definitely a win-win, so I agree.

[ - ]  ChloeSapienzaGood: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
YES! LOL. Harry Potter wins, yes. But don't name the poor kid Hermione.

[ - ]  averagelystrangeGood: 1Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
You, sir/ma'aam, are a genius.

[ - ]  leiannasaurGood: 1Bad: 01 year, 10 months ago
Or Trix. o.o

[ - ]  TequilaKingfisherGood: 5Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I'm sad cos I hate Twilight and my names bella... Bella Swan is an insult to all Bella's of the world. But i think naming a kid after someone/thing you admire and like is a nice thing to do... unless that thing is Twilight, in which case its stupid and annoying

[ - ]  lytleblueyesGood: 5Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
its a girl

[ - ]  raibeanGood: 5Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I love your sarcasm. Too bad the others don't get it.

[ - ]  Ninjaraybay09Good: 12Bad: 281 year, 11 months ago
O.p. and his wife are obbsessed with made -up movies Harry Potter's not REAL get over it!

[ - ]  cuteiswhatweaimforGood: 11Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Lol I agree. Don't name the poor child Hermione!!!

[ - ]  pookiebus23Good: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
i dont know just go with something original like a common but unique name not a character

[ - ]  IAlwaysFailGood: 3Bad: 01 year, 10 months ago
First off, naming kids after a cherished book character can show them how much you love them. Second, it's there baby, they can name it how they see fit. And third, Bella could stand for Bellatrix... Nice lil compromise there for you two.

[ - ]  killercxntpuntGood: 24Bad: 271 year, 11 months ago
I hope it turns out not to be your kid. Fucking idiot.

[ - ]  VidarGood: 26Bad: 111 year, 11 months ago
I hope it turns out not to be MY kid...

[ - ]  TequilaKingfisherGood: 5Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
I never realised there were MLIAers out there as rude and humourless as you people... smile, its not like calling a kid Hermione is going to hurt you.

[ - ]  averageismymiddlename1Good: 8Bad: 81 year, 11 months ago
wow morons

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 36Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Don't lie. You're naming her Gertrude.

[ - ]  zmcgGood: 23Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
Or Olga.

[ - ]  CrutonGood: 8Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
La-a.

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 3Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
You mean Le-a? Hell no. >.>

[ - ]  CrutonGood: 15Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
It's pronounced La-dash-uh.

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 4Bad: 141 year, 11 months ago
No, it's pronounced Le-dash-uh.

[ - ]  MyJesusJesusGood: 1Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
What a sad excuse for a name...

[ - ]  keilabellaGood: 6Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Or Gretchin.

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 10Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Or they could just go with an average name, like Jessica, or Rebecca.

[ - ]  zmcgGood: 8Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Rebecca's not that average anymore. But Mary is. Let me see..I think Kristen was too. I forget.

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 12Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
Megan is still pretty average. -nods-

[ - ]  keilabellaGood: 8Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
So is Laura.

[ - ]  killercxntpuntGood: 31Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
Wow my name is Jessica. My best friend's name is Kristen, her cousin's name is Megan and my puppy's name is Mary Jane. Ha, I'd say this is all average.

[ - ]  InsertWittyUserNameGood: 4Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
And Lexi.

[ - ]  zmcgGood: 10Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
killercxtpunt has a very average little world. *nods in approval*

[ - ]  the_awesomestGood: 5Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
My name is Lexi!!!!!!

[ - ]  ginnyweasley1234Good: 6Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago

[ - ]  drgreghouseGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
MY name is Megan(:

[ - ]  diePERFECTLYparGood: 5Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Rebecca's pretty average. I know more Rebeccas than Marys.

[ - ]  LittleJ67Good: 6Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
strangely enough, that's mine and my sister's names. Jessica and Rebecca. creepy

[ - ]  JessandbiebsGood: 2Bad: 01 year, 7 months ago
yah my name is jessica and my sisters name is rebecca, no joke

[ - ]  killercxntpuntGood: 6Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Nah man, Bertha.

[ - ]  keilabellaGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Gertrude?

[ - ]  SpazzmatazzGood: 5Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Roberta.

[ - ]  killercxntpuntGood: 2Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
No Bertha lol. It's a worse name than Gertrude don't ya think? I mean Big Bertha is the only nickname the poor kid would have.

[ - ]  mcgarrityGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
wat about marge. i think thats a doomed named. just ready to be an epic fail

[ - ]  shoeshineronenickelGood: 10Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
WINIFRED.

[ - ]  UnicornsDoExistGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Laurie isn't average *tear*

[ - ]  klaybabyy15Good: 3Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
There's this girl named Bertha in my class and everyone calls her Big Bertha lol! =)

[ - ]  bethanymc1Good: 5Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
Name her Bethany (:

[ - ]  bethanyskyeGood: 1Bad: 01 year, 9 months ago
I agree that is a nice name. And not just because that is my name. Also it is not that popular.

[ - ]  BookMobileGood: 9Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Come on, OP. We couldn't care less.

[ - ]  zmcgGood: 12Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I find this utterly nonsensical and lacking common logic. In other news, I think the font looks thinner.

[ - ]  shoeshineronenickelGood: 1Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Huh. I'm not sure. Maybe it is thinner.

[ - ]  diePERFECTLYparGood: 10Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
It's been dieting! Nothing but substanceless cliches for a month. It tastes horrible, but does wonders for one's figure.

[ - ]  zmcgGood: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
The horrors the font must have gone through! It could have just as well had lipo, and not gone through all that trouble.

[ - ]  heatherrawrieeGood: 12Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Ooh, I sure hope you weren't planning on reading the comments, not with a post like this *shudders*

[ - ]  iPhone13Good: 15Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
You obviously have no concern for the unborn baby... I hope she realizes how unbelievably rude and inconsiderate you were before she was even born...

[ - ]  keilabellaGood: 17Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
SEND THAT KID TO AN ORPHANAGE! Before you kill her throwing her at wolves so they can become best friends. Or teach her wizard spells that will never help her in real life.

[ - ]  dazzlemeGood: 0Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
AHAHAHAHAHA!

[ - ]  shoeshineronenickelGood: 9Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
ANOTHER BABY ONE? IS IT BABY DAY OR SOMETHING? DID I NOT CATCH A MEMO...!

[ - ]  eragonbromssonGood: 3Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
I dunno, there are worse names

[ - ]  mcgarrityGood: 12Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
ya. way to be. chose your kids by the use of MLIA and not by some other meaningful way. just way to be

[ - ]  kingsofleonfanGood: 7Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Ok seriously, OP you are an idoit.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 10Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
OP is probably a teenager who forgot the condom, to think this is an okay way to name your child.

[ - ]  killercxntpuntGood: 10Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Bella is a beautiful name, haha and not just because it means beautiful in italian. I'm sure no one would link the kid to Twilight. Now Hermione, that's just asking for trouble.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 7Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Well yeah, but the fact that within this post, it has to do with Twilight, is what makes it horrible. My dog's name is Bella, but we named her that before we even heard of Twilight.

[ - ]  shoeshineronenickelGood: 12Bad: 81 year, 11 months ago
My dog's name is Bella too. I named her after I'd heard of the books and read each of them, and I liked them. And truthfully, I still do. (Don't shun me).

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 10Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
Haha. I won't. I don't push my opinion on others. And Bella is a gorgeous name, but since everyone associates it with Twilight now, it doesn't seem that great anymore.

[ - ]  diePERFECTLYparGood: 5Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I think Isabelle is a beautiful name. Bella might be asking for trouble. Hermione is just ridiculous though.

[ - ]  UnicornsDoExistGood: 7Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I read twilight before anyone had heard of it. And I still like it too... The movie might have been okay if bot for the poor cast of characters b

[ - ]  UnicornsDoExistGood: 3Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
*not and the b was supposed to be a period xP

[ - ]  klaybabyy15Good: 4Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
yea i read it in 2004 before it became so insane

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Ditto. The story wasn't too bad (minus sparkling vampires)

[ - ]  TequilaKingfisherGood: 2Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
why? Hermione means brave heroine... surely thats a nice thing to call a child?

[ - ]  trcrappsGood: 12Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
How about you name it Mpafi for my parents are fucking idiots.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I giggled at that.

[ - ]  trcrappsGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
The p would be silent.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 1Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
That might actually be an interesting name...

[ - ]  crazycook428Good: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Wit, you have it

[ - ]  ChloeSapienzaGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Hmm. Very close to Mafia, then..

[ - ]  Tick-tockGood: 13Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Wait-you got laid? Honestly?

[ - ]  iPhone13Good: 5Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Excellent question!

[ - ]  shoeshineronenickelGood: 2Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
T-T!

[ - ]  diePERFECTLYparGood: 9Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
So, have fun naming your nonexistant baby with your nonexistant wife, OP! Though 10 is a bit young to have kids, I am not one to judge.

[ - ]  iluvgiraffesGood: 4Bad: 301 year, 11 months ago
it definately should be heromine...i mean no one wants a sparkly baby :)

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 11Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
No, just no.

[ - ]  UnicornsDoExistGood: 14Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
Heromine? Heromine wasn't even one of the choices.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 11Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I have a feeling that user is going through and badding us and just gooded her own comment.

[ - ]  lorlor0694Good: 9Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
why dont u just name her "baby".... i mean like thats a real average name

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 6Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
OP might as well name the kid "Mistake". Although I guess I would feel bad for the child.

[ - ]  UnicornsDoExistGood: 0Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
http://mylifeisaverage.com/story/1684447

[ - ]  SassCastleGood: 4Bad: 111 year, 11 months ago
Dude do you want your kid to grow up to be the smartest/most badass girl in school, or do you want her to be a whinny-little-crack addict-looking-twat who only cares about her high school boyfriend??? you're choice

[ - ]  rubakisGood: 9Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Oh no. :( Your grammar hurts my eyes.

[ - ]  NomNomKiraEatedYourFaceGood: 7Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Your* not, you're. "You are choice"? Makes no sense.

[ - ]  emanon6993Good: 4Bad: 161 year, 11 months ago
Personally. Op you make me smile. This post is great. If you want to name your kid after harry potter go ahead everyone here can suck a dick. And if you choose bella just tell everyone she is your little princess not a whiney psycho who is inlove with a freaky fairy...I mean vampire

[ - ]  lapianomusaGood: 2Bad: 101 year, 11 months ago
it better be hermione jean, cause that's her name.

[ - ]  westman4Good: 5Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
GO Hermione!! GO GO GO!!!

[ - ]  AmberGilmore88Good: 5Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
What happened to originality? Seriously. Why not name your daughter for someone in your family, or name her something that has a strong meaning behind the name. It's your little girl, so name her what you want, but really...think about it.

[ - ]  duetmasakiGood: 8Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
So, I gave my newborn daughter the middle name of "Danger". Is that bad or badass?

[ - ]  hipposgomooGood: 6Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Bella can also stand for Bellatrix.

[ - ]  immageek224Good: 6Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
It's like Harry Potter in disguise!

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 0Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Awesome idea

[ - ]  averagefriend123Good: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I don't think you should name your daughter Hermione. It's a nice name and all, but what if she gets teased about it for the rest of her life? Probably not a good idea.

[ - ]  singergurl1125Good: 3Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
please don't tell me you would actually name your child Hermione- is it really fair to stick a kid with a name that will get her teased forever?

[ - ]  keepitonwaxGood: 7Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Jesus christ people, it's his own baby ffs. Let him choose.

[ - ]  VistaKaiGood: 4Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Please, please let this be a joke. Hey OP, just name the baby Bellatrix; then you both get your silly way, and your kid is still doomed.

[ - ]  keepitonwaxGood: 3Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
At least Hermione and Bella were semi-popular names before the books, Bellatrix is just taking it too far.

[ - ]  sals098Good: 7Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Yeah, i'm sure Hermione was a semi-popular name before the books [rolls eyes]. No. Bella, yes. & people who don't want to name there kids a name they like because of a character in a movie have serious problems. You think in ten years anyone's going to remember twilight? No. Name your kid what you want to name her and don't worry about bullshit that the name can be compared to.

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 0Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Amen

[ - ]  kasegedGood: 4Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
haha, looks like your baby's name is Hermione. A lot better than Bella. That's actually a cute name

[ - ]  SilvarbelleGood: 7Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
Ignore the haters in the first posts; they're miserable creatures that can't feel better unless they make others miserable, too. I think naming the baby Hermione is perfectly alright. =D

[ - ]  queen_lubiGood: 7Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
technically Bella doesn't sparkle, Edward does. but yea, both those names suck.

[ - ]  JenovaGood: 9Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
I feel sad that people are hating on the name Hermione :( I rather like it. On another note I met somone named Galadriel who had a brother named Eomer a long time ago. The mom had been reading LOTR at the time. They felt no shame. NO HATING ON NAMES THAT HAPPEN TO BE IN BOOKS/MOVIES. Thank you.

[ - ]  TequilaKingfisherGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Galadriel is a pretty name

[ - ]  bethanymc1Good: 0Bad: 71 year, 11 months ago
Don't name her a book name! thats sooo stupid.

[ - ]  lytleblueyesGood: 13Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Name her Grawp

[ - ]  herbologyNEVILLEGood: 3Bad: 61 year, 11 months ago
i think you shouldnt name her hermoine, but maybe cho, no. LUNA!!!! LOONY LOVEGOOD!!!!!!or Katie, katie's normal. like katie bell, or angelina, or alicia!! all on gryffindor qudditch, or ginny weasley, molly weasly, lily potter any of those.

[ - ]  averagechild32Good: 3Bad: 41 year, 11 months ago
Bella IS a good normal name. I liked Lily and James a long time before I liked Harry Potter, so I guess if you REALLY like the name Hermione, then I'm not complaining. I just think that it's a bad idea naming kids after movie/ book characters.

[ - ]  ratlover0812Good: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
wtf people! how about congrats on u and ur wife having a baby and i dont really give a f**k what her name will be because it will most likely be a good one! and i think hermione is a perfectly good name and she will be a very popular middle/high schooler.

[ - ]  quwooshGood: 1Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
i feel sorry for the kid...

[ - ]  LadyLovegoodGood: 1Bad: 51 year, 11 months ago
Harry Potter IS better than Twilight, but I cant see why you would name your child Hermione OR Bella. They are both horrible. Why not go through all of the stinking girls in both series (sarcasm)

[ - ]  IAlwaysFailGood: 0Bad: 11 year, 10 months ago
Including Luna Lovegood?

[ - ]  coultGood: 2Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
name her katniss

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
PERFECT! If this name wasn't suggested, I was going to post that. ^_^

[ - ]  coultGood: 1Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
if i have a son i would want to name him peeta thats an awesome name. apparetnly everyone here only knows about 2 books.

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 0Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
I think I like Gale a bit better, but Peeta's a cool dude.

[ - ]  LaurelRotterGood: 2Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT NAME THAT CHILD AFTER ANYTHING RELATED TO TWILIGHT. Hermione will be the coolest kid ever.

[ - ]  HermioneNRGood: 4Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
As someone whose first name actually is Hermione, I very much approve of this. However, your child should be prepared for a lot of "OMG LIKE HARRY POTTER??!!!" which can get annoying quickly.

[ - ]  IAlwaysFailGood: 0Bad: 11 year, 10 months ago
My name is James T Kirk. You think YOU know annoying? Pff...

[ - ]  GigglesGood: 4Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Technically, You could name the baby Bella, and she wouldn't be a vampire loving baby. She would just be a death eater. Since in the book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Snape talks to Malfoy calling Bellatrix "Aunt Bella." So Either way, you could have an good HP name, or an evil one. :D

[ - ]  SupportSPEWGood: 0Bad: 31 year, 11 months ago
Genius plan. =)

[ - ]  chyeashiznitGood: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
If it has to be one or the other for that reason then go with Hermione. However Bellatrix seems like a much better name. In fact that's what I'm naming my soon to be born daughter. lol

[ - ]  withasalsadispenserGood: 2Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
Stupid OP is stupid. He's making such a cliche MLIA. However, I agree with some people on the name "Bella". Her real name could be Bellatrix, but everyone could call her Bella. Harry Potter name ninja move right there. :D

[ - ]  HermineBGood: 1Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
go for Hermione! my name is Hermine and I m not traumatised AT ALL!

[ - ]  JonEGood: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
If this post gets up to 200 comments, OP will name his child Douchecock McLesbolicker.

[ - ]  MLIA6332Good: 1Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
BELLA. i like harry potter better. but if you name her hermoine.... OUCH.

[ - ]  drgreghouseGood: 3Bad: 21 year, 11 months ago
Can people stop with all the Harry Potter obessions/Twilight hating because it's really annoying. Guess what? Some people might like Harry Potter, and others might like Twilight. Who gives a crap? REALLY GET OVER YOURSELVES.

[ - ]  ATKGood: 0Bad: 11 year, 11 months ago
IT'S THE HARRY POTTER VS. TWILIGHT CLICHE. It's surfaced again just to greet you, say hello, and make you want to make dead baby jokes.

A good cause. I must support.
