MyLifeIsAverage - Life is pretty normal today

Today, I had slept in and was late going to school. On a note I wrote my reason for being late as "busy fighting crime" and I drew the Batman symbol under it. My mom laughed, signed it, and dropped me off to school. When I got to school I signed in at the attendance office, and gave my note to the secretary. I went to class, but ten minutes into class I was called back down to the office. Guess who got a high five from the principal? Not me, I got a detention for fraudulence and got the incident put on my permanent record. MLIA

I'm not doubting it at all. My old high school was pretty relaxed but I could see something like this happening at some of my friends' high schools. It technically is "fraudulence" (which is supposed to go on a permanent record) and some people just take that stuff too seriously.

I really don't see how this could go on your record. All you'd need to do is have your mother tell them she did sign it. They can argue the note had a nonsense reason, but a silly late note doesn't deserve severe punishment.
