It's not correct. "Neither of us are ashamed" would be more correct. And stop being a pansy, obviously none of us care about hurting an anonymous stranger's feelings.

Yes, pansy. And 'neither of us are ashamed' sounds correct, but isn't. 'Us' is part of the preposition and therefore isn't integral to the sentence, so it would read "neither is ashamed" and still mean the same thing. You wouldn't say 'neither are ashamed' now would you?
