Today, I saw a hobo with a sign that said "I just like holding cardboard." I'm glad there's at least one hobo out there who does what he loves for a living. MLIA
I like the ones in Toronto who have signs that say "Will take verbal abuse for money".
I give them coffee and muffins instead of verbal abuse or money though :/
i'm just trying to point out you don't have to be so negative. why call this person a moron just because you saw it on the internet? maybe they saw it in real life as well. i thought MLIA was a place for entertainment and fun, but now that i've started reading the comments i don't like a lot of the people who post here.
I agree, theworstpartin....
I thought this was a place to post average stories about everyday life. Maybe this person really saw a hobo like that. Maybe the hobo found out about another hobo doing something like that overhearing it on the street and decided to do that too?
There's a hobo near my campus who alternates between signs reading: "Voldermort broke my wand", "Vader killed my parents. Need new lightsaber" and, since it's NYU I got to, "NYU tuition fund".
There seems to be some confusion about hobos and panhandlers. One person is even talking about a "local hobo." You can't have a local hobo, people.... There are dictionaries online. There are even websites dedicated to the hobo lifestyle, past and to some extent present -- there are still people living the hobo life.

I want to do this one day. Sit holding a sign like this, I mean, while dressed up like a homeless person. But not with anything for people to put money in, because then I'd feel weird.
