MyLifeIsAverage

Life is pretty normal today.
Today, my 80-year old grandpa beat me in a push-up competition. He did 2. MLIA.

[ - ]  Hard_To_BelieveGood: 1Bad: 32 years ago
I didn't used to be able to. Now I can. If you start by doing it off your knees, it helps a lot.

That's what she- nevermind.

[ - ]  eternallyme3Good: 7Bad: 52 years ago
HAHA suckerssss... I can do 127 push-ups =) I'm a 15 year old girl. I rock.

[ - ]  MLIAisGGood: 5Bad: 12 years ago
127? I don't think many people would even have the patience/time/attention span to count that high while doing pushups...btw good job, I hope you stay fit! :D

[ - ]  themediadudeGood: 18Bad: 342 years ago
This isn't really that average, www.amirite.net ?

[ - ]  eternallyme3Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 3Bad: 42 years ago
i'm a girl, 5'3 and under 100 lbs. and i can do 63. (we had a contest in gym once)

[ - ]  Hard_To_BelieveGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
Seriously? Without stopping?

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
i had to rest in the middle for like a minute. but that was in softball season when i was really in shape. now i can only do about 35...? without stopping

[ - ]  Hard_To_BelieveGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
Understandable. I'm about 5'7-ish, 105 pounds and could probably do about 35 is I had about a minute to rest after the 25th

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
are you are a girl or a guy?

[ - ]  RareCabbageGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
Man, you must be really skinny. o.0

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
you people are insane, I'm a guy, 198cm, 65kg, and can do about 20... but then again, I don't work out...

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 1Bad: 02 years ago
yikes, what is the conversion to feet/inches and pounds?

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
198 = 6'6 I think, not sure. and 65kg = 140-ish pounds I think

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 1Bad: 02 years ago
198 is almost 6 ft i think. isnt 100 cm about 3 feet?

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
I checked an online converter and it said 198cm = 6,49 feet, and isn't it like 12 inches per feet or something like that?

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
hmph. guess you're right :P yeah, a foot is 12 inches. and if you don't work out, thats good! i have to work at it. if i stopped doing push-ups for months i would probably be barely able to do 7! i really have to work at it haha

75+ in a row, thanks to gymnastics :D

[ - ]  eternallyme3Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
I'm 5'3, 123lbs, and can do 127 push-ups. Non-stop. It was an Air Force Recruit stand... I don't want to JOIN the Air Force, but they were giving out free stuff, so I went out there and got it =)

[ - ]  mh1874Good: 9Bad: 22 years ago
I don't who you're trying to impress, but this isn't the place to brag.

[ - ]  Hard_To_BelieveGood: 4Bad: 02 years ago
Really? Because I'm awfully impressed.

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 2Bad: 52 years ago
1: i'm not trying to brag, i think the OP is a complete whimp. i mean, push-ups? pull-ups i can only do one :P 2: i'm pretty sure you're just jealous :)

[ - ]  mh1874Good: 3Bad: 32 years ago
Wow, arrogant much? I hope you were joking when you said I'm jealous. Anyway, I'm a guy, so you can't really compare. But you can point out your opinion of the OP other ways that comparing them to yourself and painting yourself up as impressive for your physical appearance. For all you know, the OP could be a seven year old.

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 1Bad: 02 years ago
i was kidding, i thought that was kinda obvious. i understand how that could seem like i'm bragging, but i'm not. seven year olds are not on MLIA.

[ - ]  mh1874Good: 1Bad: 12 years ago
They could be.

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 12 years ago
it all depends on who the OP is, I know a ton of teenage girls that can't do a single push up, but they would never compete against their grandpa on the other hand xD and this ignorance about their own strength lowers the OP in my opinion

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 12 years ago
thank you, totn. that was my point.

[ - ]  minaGood: 5Bad: 12 years ago
What's wrong with not being able to do push-ups? :( Not everyone can be amazing when it comes to athletics.

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 1Bad: 32 years ago
i'm sorry if i offended anyone D: (but i am NOT amazing when it comes to athletics! i just have lots of upper body strength beacuse i was ADDICTED to monkey bars when i was little. i am really one of the slowest runners in my school.)

[ - ]  minaGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
Oh, it's okay. I've just never been able to do push-ups. I can do a lot of other things and I go to the gym regularly, but I still can't do a push-up.

[ - ]  totnGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
aah, see that totally explains the difference between us ;) I managed to knock a hole in my forehead by falling off the monkey bars when I was a kid, never liked them since then, however I'm one of the fastest runners in school

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
totn - ouch!! and thats funny, we are complete opposites (: mina - so do i! i practice and practice but i cant get my mile time (don't laugh!!) under about 9:10 :(

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
wait how much is an american mile? I'm used to European miles which are 10km, my 5km time is on just above 20minutes

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
5km is about 3 miles

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
okay xD

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
yeah i can do two miles in twenty mins... so three would probably be a little above thirty minutes :(

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
well, that's not bad, :P but you shoud accont for the fact that the first mile will go way faste than the later ones. I coud probably run that first one in under 5 minutes, since that's pretty much just sprinting. (I'm a way better sprinter than endurance runner)

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
woooowwwww!!! thats really good!

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
haha, well I guess I got my height to thank, never really trained

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
very true. long legs = long strides.

[ - ]  eternallyme3Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
seriously, I agree with you. people talk about assumptions. You're just proud of what you did, and these hypocrits are assuming you're some hot-shot show-off who thinks you're all that, and that you're great at sports. They probably think I'm showing off too. Eejits.

[ - ]  RareCabbageGood: 2Bad: 12 years ago
Not being able to do a push-up does not make you a wimp... I know people who can't do a single push up but can knock someone out in an instant. It depends on the muscles (pushups use mainly shoulder and chest muscles) that are used. Just because you don't have muscle built in certain places does not make you a wimp... and who would be jealous of push ups? People brag here and there, but jealousy? No...

[ - ]  totnGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
well clearly for a k-o punch you don't need any strengt, you can knock out anyone if you just get the punch in. And even otherwise it's all about momentum not stength, speed can make up for a lot

[ - ]  normallykarlGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
Wrong. Force=Mass x Accelleration. To deliver a KO punch takes an incredible amount of strength and technique. Anyone who is out of shape enough that they can't do a pushup couldn't deliver such a blow... unless it was to a baby or something.

[ - ]  mmbb9964Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
that jealous thing? i was kidding. i thought that was obvious. i understand how i could come off as arrogant, and it sounded like that. but i'm not. and i know exactly what you're saying - read my comment to mina above.

[ - ]  lizzyalynnGood: 0Bad: 12 years ago
good for you. i can run a 20k (a little more than 12 miles) without walking.

[ - ]  kstategrl17Good: 12Bad: 02 years ago
At least it doesn't say I love old people on the end. Thank you for that.

[ - ]  cedricdiggorylivesGood: 3Bad: 42 years ago

[ - ]  random-cheeseGood: 0Bad: 12 years ago

[ - ]  elenaaGood: 2Bad: 12 years ago
I'm a girl and I do 25 everytime I miss a serve in volleyball. Not just at games either. Their not that hard unless you've never worked out in your life..

[ - ]  RawrZingGood: 5Bad: 02 years ago
This could easily be on fml.

[ - ]  themediadudeGood: 0Bad: 52 years ago
This isn't really that average, www.amirite.net ?

[ - ]  acordellGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
This is very horrible I'm really sorry that you are not in better shape. It's ridiculous about these comments that nobody on here is in shape. You can't do 2 pushups.

[ - ]  MLIAisGGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
I can do more than 2 pushups D: but then again I'm a guy in football.. haha

[ - ]  PeytonHillisGood: 0Bad: 02 years ago
I agree. This is EXTREMELY sad. They'll probably have a heart attack by the age of 40...

[ - ]  IrrelevantGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
Lack of upper body strength =/= unhealthy.

[ - ]  normallykarlGood: 1Bad: 02 years ago
an inability to do more than 2 pushups = maybe should be exercising instead of spending more time on the internet. In the long run it might be better.

[ - ]  shellaGood: 3Bad: 02 years ago
FML?

[ - ]  DaAce96Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
seriously, I can do about 50

[ - ]  lyssalove56Good: 0Bad: 02 years ago
i appreciate that you posted this on MLIA and not FML

[ - ]  DiatainGood: 0Bad: 01 year, 11 months ago
Only 2? I'm way overweight, lack upper body strength, and I can do ten without stopping. What is this I don't even.
