Today I found out that people from South Africa use the term "That's so legend" instead of "That's so cool." I will never be using "That's so cool" ever again. MLIA.

Fuck. 'Legend' will become the new 'Epic.'

[ - ]  expecto_patronumGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Nooooo!

[ - ]  SayRawrrGood: 3Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
"Legend" was the old "epic" here.

[ - ]  schnitzelbankGood: 2Bad: 42 years, 4 months ago
Anyone else cringe when legend is being used as an adjective? Legendary, people, legendary!

[ - ]  deviantgraceGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Preach!

[ - ]  JrockzGood: 4Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
In England, we say that someone is a ledge :|

[ - ]  nerdfighteryeahGood: 0Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
in Ireland we say someone is a ledge too. or we legend. or as a joke ledge bag. but i think thats only dublin (:

[ - ]  MissaceGood: 6Bad: 32 years, 4 months ago
That's funny. I live in south africa and NO ONE says that. At all. You must have found a tribe of morons hiding in North West Province.

[ - ]  douchemuffinGood: 5Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Yeah, I'm from SA as well and I've never heard anyone say that. O.o I've also seen on TV once that South Africans make clothes out of coloured plastic wraps. Where do people get these things!?

[ - ]  cazzloverGood: 5Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
scuse you! we in cape town say "that's so legend"

[ - ]  NezzyGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
I'm Namibian. I haven't ever heard anybody say that up here either.

[ - ]  cobrafangsGood: 2Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Yeah I'm from Cape Town and I a lot of people say 'thats so legend'

[ - ]  hazelfGood: 13Bad: 22 years, 4 months ago

[ - ]  timewellspentGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago

[ - ]  pjeGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
YES! Love it!

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 5Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
No bro!!! I'm from S.A and only a few people say that. You shouldn't generalise. We use 'Epic' sometimes and then normal words. But then again there are different slang words used in different parts of South Africa

[ - ]  MissSturridgeGood: 2Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Exactly. I'm from S.A too :) slang such as 'kak' is heard more often...

[ - ]  douchemuffinGood: 0Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
haha yeah and 'sis' (...is that slang?)

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 3Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Definatly... Sometimes different schools have their own different slang... Like the word bint- which some boys schools use for girl :)

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Exactly :) Afrikaans mixed with english :)

[ - ]  terriiiGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
I'm agreement, it all depends where you are from and who your friends are, some of my friends say epic alot, but then again other friends say legend, some even say kief or awnot pronounced the same as awe) it all depends where you from and your friends =)

[ - ]  shanbammmGood: 2Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
We use 'Legend' in New Zealand all the time. As in, when someone does something that makes you really happy or thankful, or just to someone really cool, we say "you legend" or something along the lines .. Its interesting to hear your views on it all! :)

[ - ]  iLikewafflesGood: 0Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
Yeah, we say you legend heaps. I've never heard anyone say 'that's so legend'.

[ - ]  SerbitarGood: 4Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
We do exactly the same in Ireland. Except It's usually 'Absolute Legend'. God knows why...

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 3Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Yeah. 'You legend' is used much more often than 'that's so legend' :)

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 2Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
In South Africa that is :)

[ - ]  DemonvixenGood: 0Bad: 12 years, 4 months ago
It's actually kind of old now...people have started using "sarcastic" for stuff, like "it is sarcastically hot in here"...

[ - ]  agent007Good: 4Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
I am South African and I can verify that we DO say "That's so legend."

[ - ]  cazzloverGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
and "ahh, you're such a legend!"

[ - ]  agent007Good: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Haha, nice one. We say "kak" a lot, and it's sies, not sis. More like if something is gross.

[ - ]  douchemuffinGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
eesh I have to go correct my stupid facebook bumpersticker for that. thanks. :D

[ - ]  TamesisGood: 1Bad: 22 years, 4 months ago
I said this out loud to see if I liked it, and it accidentally came out in an English accent. I like it.

[ - ]  IdaBeeGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
That makes it so much better

[ - ]  WafflenessGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
One time I bought something that was legend and it costed over six dollars forty!

[ - ]  fluffy206Good: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
I know that every uses 'bru' 'bra' and 'bro' to address anyone, girls and boys.

[ - ]  douchemuffinGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
my friend said "bru" was surfer's language. haha

[ - ]  wiked-riceballGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
We also have that saying in England.

[ - ]  cheeseismythingGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
I live in England, my friends use 'legend' all the time, sometimes just on its own to describe an awesome person or event, like 'That party at the weekend was a LEGEND' and sometimes, it gets shortened to just 'lege'.

[ - ]  agent007Good: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Yeah we do to.. A lot of SA slang is part afrikaans. "Howzit"

[ - ]  StopStalkingMeGood: 2Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
Yeah Irish people say that the whole time too, even use it to describe people. 'Ya leeeegend ya' etc.

[ - ]  YesidorideakangarooGood: 0Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
yeah, and if you say that when you're not in South Africa you will just look like an idiot, won't you?

[ - ]  truedatGood: 1Bad: 02 years, 4 months ago
