Today, my friend let me borrow her sixth Harry Potter book after she read it. When I got to the end at two o' clock in the morning on a school night, I called her, sobbing. All she could make out was "Dumbledore." She walked to my house in the rain in her pajamas to console me. That's a true friend. MLIA
haha really that is pretty amazing
agreed.
Today, my friend let me borrow Beautiful Boy. When I got to the end at 2 AM, I called her, sobbing. All she could make out was "Nic." She walked... MLIA
...I have no idea what that story is, but either way, that made it sound much more average. <_<
Uh... What?
Well, somebody fucked up.
It's the true story of a kid (Nic) who becomes addicted to meth, written by his dad (who is an author, so it doesn't suck), which shows the emotional trauma a meth addiction causes to a family.
No joke, but now that you said that, I know what you are talking about now.
But if it's a book that is less known wouldn't that make it less average? I'm sure a lot of people were upset by Dumbledore's death.
what's OP?
Original Pranksta, son!
other person
Well, it is accually highly probable that this happened
for example, girl compulsivly reads MLIA, sees all the posts about harry potter, decides to read it. If you have ever read the books you know it is pretty super emotional and your attatched to Dumbledore by the 6th book, so it is pretty depressing. So this could OBVIOUSLY be true, atleast more true then most of the other Harry Potter posts on here.
Why were you badded? Harry Potter's a good book, but people on this site are fucking obsessed.
And thanks, all, for badding me.
And you're just reading this now?!? You're a few years too late.
Also, I think the timing might be a bit off here.
i completely agree, there is no way you just found out dumbledore died, im fairly confident everyone in the world knows this by now
I didn't know until about 2 months ago..
I also don't know!
Maybe not. Not if they aren't followers and haven't seen the movie yet. My friend Lauren went to see it in theaters and this chick screamed out to Dumbledore not to follow Snape cause he was going to die and Lauren was so angry because she didn't know he was going to die. It basically ruined the ending of the movie for her.
Yeah I've never read HP myself...but just by reading this site I knew he died long time ago.
Even if you DID know he died, it is made alot more emotional in the book because you know how harrys feeling, and its very descriptive about how his body looked lifeless and how harry had hope that he would get up any moment and be alive... Its still emotional!
Maybe it took her friend that long to finish it?
Haha, that was my first thought too. Some people just write today because they thought of a recent story and wanted to post it wihout saying "A few days/weeks ago", but this is KINDA stretching it.
The OP just ruined the ENTIRE ending for me...Damnit.
Well, thats just too bad, if you didn't wanna know, you should've stopped after Half-Blood Prince. Thats what I do, so you never accidently get a spoiler.
something feels funny about this. she seems to be so great a fan that she cries for dumbledore after his death, but she's only reading the book now??? how does that make sense??
I just read the book over the summer and im utterly obsessed 0.0 dont judge.
I find this funny this came out this recently because I just now (yesterday) watched the 6th movie... I had no idea either that he dies... I like the movies but am not obsessed... but I didn't cry lol
Keep her. True friends don't come everyday.
Amen, sister/brother! Dumbledore, NO! :(
that is one great friend!
ik this is dedication.
aww that's sweet<3
Haha @Benjyblue, that was my reaction. I was like, "Wait... this happened today?" ...Nonetheless, the OP's friend seems wonderful.
You're about four years too late, OP. *pats* I am sorry, nonetheless.
...lol, I fail. I apparently can't even log IN on the correct account. *diez*
I like Lemon Fairy better.
I use it on every other website ever, pretty much. I got this one for some post once, and it stuck so I kept it because people recognized me as MSP. :P
When I balled my eyes out reading A Child Called It none of my friends consoled me. What the hell? ]=
*console* That is a terribly sad book.
I know. I read it in school too so I would be in class sniffeling and wiping my eyes. Or walking from glass to glass with tears streaming down my face. It was awful. People assumed something terrible happened, than I'd tell them it was from reading a book. They would just roll their eyes or give me weird looks.
I got about a fourth of the way until I realizes that I couldn't read it at school anymore. People started to stare.
You need better friends. That book made me cry.
My friends did. And my fourth grade teacher consoled me over "Bridge to Terabithia"
I totally loved that book, i cried while reading the book and while watching the movie!!!.....btw your username is totally awesome xD
I never saw the movie because, from what I gathered in the previews, they made it Fantasy. It... wasn't a fantasy novel...
nah, it wasn't really fantasy. It was just their imaginary world that was kind of fantasy, but they definitely lived in the real world. I didn't read the book, though, so I don't know how they compare.
It just seemed to me like they put a lot more focus on the Fantasy/Terabithia aspect of it than in the book. The book mentioned it, but is was a touching piece of realistic fiction.
A walk to remember by Nicholas Sparks has a pretty sad ending, and I usually don't cry over reading books. :P
sorry, what's OP?

thanks

A little behind on your reading, OP?
To tell the truth, I didn't cry when Dumbledore died. Sirius is another story. :(
Exactly the same with me. I was in the family room when Sirius died and I made a quick escape so no-one would see me.
I cryed for Sirius but for Dobby I balled my eyes out!
I think Dobby is the only one I cried for...well until the end when JKR did her random massacre of awesome characters.
I bawled for Fred and I KNEW before the book came out that he was going to die. That's how obvious it was... :/
It was?? O:
lol I like your perception of the ending
Much to cliche
I cried at both. Well more like sobbed and had a fit. And at Shell Cottage part to. My friends and I had sleepover where we read the books after the midnight thingy for the first time. My parents were worried when they heard me Scream "Dumbledore No!" Your friend is awesome
I cried when Fred and Snape died :'(
I was so upset when Sirius died that I refused to read book six for the longest time. Then my sister read it and told me he wasn't really dead after all, so I read it. LIAR!
After I read all the books a second time I quickly realized how many plot-holes there were, and how the story really did not flow together, especially the absolutely horrid epilogue that was just tacked on as if it was an afterthought.
ummm, like what?
First: How in the world would Voldemort get into the school on the back of Quirrel's head without nobody noticing? Don't you think in a school full of magic someone would have noticed, mainly the fully trained wizarding staff? Second, If Dumbledore and Moody were such great friends, how does he not notice that he is being impersonated? Third, How in the world would Harry forget the two-wayed communication mirror that his Godfather gave him? Fourth reason is the relationships Ron and Hermione?? Are you freaking kidding me?? Constant bickering is not a symptom of unresolved sexual tension or hidden feelings for each other. It usually means you generally do not like someone. And really Harry and Ginny?? Odepius Complex to the tenth degree. And there are a million more reasons and examples.
You know I feel that it was mentioned somewhere that Potter men had an affinity for red heads.
My comments on your things...
First: Its not very respectful to go and ask someone whats under a turben on their head. I mean it couldve been like a huge scar from being cursed or somthing, its just NOT POLITE.
second... Polyjuice Potion is quite comvincing, and if he wouldve watched him for awhile, he would be able to flawlessly assume his life. And as it was stated, Snape and Moaning Murtle (Murdle?) thought that it was harry.
third... It was a vision, he thought sirius was ebing hurt, he needed to act immediately, you SAW the rush he was in, its hard to thing clear in that kind of situation
fourth...Uhh, have you ever heard the saying "bicker like an old married couple" and people pickon eachother when they like them?
and Harry and Ginny are adorable, he broke up with her for her own good, and they missed eachother, its good writing to have complex realtionships, it adds a sense of depth.
I feel like you do not totally understand the meaning of an Oedipus complex...unless you would like to enlighten me on how Ginny is like Harry's mother?
She's a true friend. And don't worry, I cried too. Nobody came to comfort me though. :(
I had to register just so I could downvote this.
Anyone who cares abut harry potter enough to cry about it would most likely know that dumbledore died by now (or i would assume)...shit, it got out before the book did
I don't think this happened... thats kind of sad you had to make that up too? don't you have better things to do?
aww what a good friend!!
I can see this happening, I saw the movie before I read the book and I had no idea that he died and then I read the book after I saw the movie and I still cried!
Don't Bad this because it's my opinion, but that sounds either WAY to emotional to be true, or having some kind of OCDisorder. Dont get me wrong, I love the series, but people, this book is FICTION!
Trust me friend, more than a few people cried over Dumbledore.
wow.. two true crazy HP fans.. hats off !!!! we need fans like you..
AGREED!
i was only sad when dobby died in the seventh book
Ok, I AM the OP, and I feel something must be cleared up here. I put "Today," out of habit, not because it actually happened that day. It actually happened...Mmm...what? Two years ago? Something like that? Haha, does it really matter when it happened? Someday this will be on page...like 956, and then nobody will be having that comment.
Btw, I posted this story now because I very recently started reading MLIA, and felt like my personal experience with HP would be amusing for some. <3
And also, watching the movie just wasn't the same for me. Reading the book was so much worse. That was a hard night.
